House rules
The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra strives to move and inspire the widest possible audience with concert experiences of the highest level. With the house rules below, we try to guarantee this experience for everyone.
General house rules
General code of conduct
During our concerts, we expect respect for other spectators, the staff and the artists. Antwerp Symphony Orchestra staff is free to deny access to concerts to people who do not respect this general code of conduct.
Respect for reception staff
The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra always treats its concertgoers with respect. We expect the reception staff to be treated with the same respect.
Food and drinks
It is not permitted to eat or drink in the concert hall. It is also not allowed to take glasses or food from the bar into the concert hall.
Smoking
No smoking (this applies to standard cigarettes as well as e-cigarettes and vaporizers) or drug use is allowed inside the concert hall, both in the concert hall and other open areas.
In the concert hall
Cloakroom
Coats, backpacks, umbrellas, large bags, suitcases, and folding bicycles are not allowed into the concert hall due to general safety regulations. We also request that headgear that obstructs the view of other concertgoers is left in the cloakroom. The cloakroom is free and guarded, and therefore mandatory. The cloakroom will remain open until one hour after the concert. Pick up your belongings before closing time.
Theft
Do not leave personal belongings unattended. The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra is not responsible for any theft.
Wheelchairs, rollators and strollers
Due to general safety regulations, wheelchairs, rollators, or strollers are not allowed to be placed on the aisles in the concert hall. These must be left outside the hall. Our reception staff is always ready to indicate the correct place. There are also wheelchair spaces in the concert hall, please ask for them when making your reservation. Reserving these seats is mandatory and can be done up to 1 week before each concert at the latest. The number of wheelchair spaces is limited per concert.
Opening and closing of the hall
The doors of the concert hall normally open one hour before the start of the concert, unless otherwise communicated.
The concert hall closes one hour after the end of the concert.
During the concert
Latecomers
After the official starting time, no public is allowed in the hall. However, you may do so during the intermission, or - at the indication of the reception staff - at another convenient time during the concert. Those who have tickets and arrive late retain the right to attend the concert, but lose their seat allocation. Therefore, latecomers may have to sit in a seat other than the one shown on their ticket. Tickets will not be refunded or exchanged.
Exit hall
You may leave the hall during the concert, due to urgency, but we ask that you do so quietly. Keep in mind that you may only re-enter the hall when indicated by the reception staff or during intermission.
Phone
It is not allowed to take photos, to film or to make sound recordings during our concerts. Out of respect for our musicians and other concertgoers, we ask you to turn off your phone during the concert. If you do not respect this, you may be asked by a reception staff member to turn off your phone. Taking pictures before the concert or during the applause is allowed.
Image and sound captures
CD recordings or recordings for broadcast on radio, television, and/or the Internet are made of some concerts. We will do our utmost to limit any inconvenience to a minimum. Before the start of the concert, you will be informed of this on stage or via our website.
Concert information
Duration of performances & concerts
A few days before the concert you will receive more information about the duration and possible breaks by e-mail. You can also check this information at the information desk before the concert. The duration of the concert is always purely indicative.
Program changes
Any program changes will not entitle you to a refund of tickets. We always try to limit changes to a minimum. You can always find the most up-to-date programming at www.antwerpso.be.
Introduction
We provide an introduction for certain concerts. The number of places for these is limited.
Places in churches
During concerts in the Cathedral or in the Carolus Borromeus Church, the seats are not numbered, and therefore no fixed seats can be reserved. Only for guests of the orchestra, and for Members of the Patron's Guild and Business Circle, seats are reserved if necessary.
