Andrei Mihai JîJîie
JîJîie Andrei Mihai was born in 2002 in Suceava, Romania. It was there that he began to study the double bass at the "Ciprian Porumbescu" Art College under the guidance of Professor Florin Silviu Ungureanu at the age of 11.
In 2021 he began his Bachelor's studies at the "George Enescu" University of Arts in Iași in the class of Ph. univ. lect. Virgil Florin Prisacariu.
He has participated in several Masterclasses with Cristian Braica (solo double bass player of the Radio Symphony Orchestra Frankfurt am Main, Germany), Ioan Baranga (solo double bass player of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Belgium), Ulrich Koella (Switzerland), Trio Bohémo (Czech Republic). He also participated in 2022 at the Opera by the Fjord Summer Academy, in Bergen (Norway).
He is currently part of the Romanian Youth Orchestra (ORT) and the Moldovan Youth Orchestra (MNYO).
He had the opportunity to collaborate with different professional orchestras such as Orchester National de France, Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Bucharest Metropolitan Orchestra, the "Oltenia" Craiova Philharmonic, the Bucovina Philharmonic and others.
During the 2024-25 season, he joins the Baron Swerts Academy at the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.
