Rolf Verbeek
Rolf is a regular guest conductor with Camerata RCO (members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra) and also artistic director of Kamerorkest Somer. He also regularly conducts orchestras such as the North Netherlands Orchestra, Phion, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
With Camerata RCO, two CDs have been released so far, Anton Bruckner's 6th symphony in his own arrangement and the CD Sehnsucht with Barbara Hannigan as soloist in songs by Alban Berg and Gustav Mahler's 4th symphony. For several years, Hannigan fulfilled the role of mentor within the Equilibrium Young Artists programme in which Rolf served as assistant conductor with many international orchestras, such as London Symphony Orchestra, Münchner Philharmoniker and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Kersjes Prize for his clear and communicative style that allows effective and harmonious interaction with orchestra members. Next season, Rolf will make his debut with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the Filarmonica Banatul Timisoara, the Ulster Orchestra and the Brussels Philharmonic.
