Francisca Barata Feyo

Francisca started playing the violin in her hometown Lisbon. Eight years later, she changed to the viola to pursue secondary education with Isabel Pimentel.

In masterclasses, she had the opportunity to work with Samuel Barsegian, Ellen Nisbeth, António Pereira, Jorge Alves, Marc Sabbah, Leo de Neve, Gérard Caussé, Alexander Zemtsov, Razvan Popovici, Matè Szücs, Nils Mönkemeyer, Roman Spitzer, Florent Brémond, Sander Geerts, Marjolein Dispa, Frederik Boits, Nobuko Imai and Timothy Ridout. 

Francisca has worked with conductors such as Christopher Bochmann, Pedro Andrade, Pedro Carneiro, Pedro Neves, Jan Wierzba, Dinis Sousa, Johannes Zahn, Fuad Ibrahimov, Kristiina Poska, Michael Schønwandt, Alain Altinoglu, Martin Sieghart and Josep Caballé Domenech.

She was a member of the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil, the Youth Portuguese Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra of the Official Music Conservatories, collaborated with the Lisbon Film Orchestra, Orchestra ConSpirito, Neue Philharmonie München, Young Belgian Strings, Virago Symphony Orchestra, Frascati Orchestra, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen (internship 2021-22), Portuguese Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble MPMP, Folefest Ensemble, Orchestra XXI and Moritzburg Festival Academy.

 Since 2023 she has been a member of the Netherlands Youth Orchestra. In the 2022-23 season, she was an academist of the Belgian National Orchestra/La Monnaie; and in the season of 2024-25, she joins the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra in their Baron Swerts Academy.
