Peter Verhoyen

Peter Verhoyen is soloist piccolo at the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, professor at the Royal Conservatory Antwerp and co-organizer of the International Flute Seminar Bruges. Since 2006, he and pianist Stefan De Schepper have been proving the solo qualities of the piccolo in recitals that often include new works of Flemish composers. For his commitment to contemporary Flemish chamber music, Peter was awarded the Fuga Trophy of the Union of Belgian Composers in 2017. He is a popular soloist at international festivals and conventions, and he gives master classes worldwide. Together with cellist Stefaan Craeynest, Peter founded the chamber music ensemble Arco Baleno in 1993.
