‘A cathedral of sound’: that is how critics described the works of the composer and organist Anton Bruckner. This would also make a great subtitle for this third and last Mass. He drew on his personal devotion to compose it, and thanks to the intensely expressive chromatic harmonies, the work continues to offer solace and is a source of contemplation even today. Honorary conductor Philippe Herreweghe is an authority on Bruckner. He partners with Collegium Vocale Gent for this concert of solace, featuring a monument of the sacred choral repertoire.
